Intro

In five minutes, each speaker delivers a speech in English, supported by the digital media of their choice: images, video, sound, animation, data or live demos.

Today’s best speakers don’t just talk, and they don’t just click through slides. They use visuals and sound to make ideas clearer, more memorable and more moving, while staying firmly at the centre of the story. Might of Multimedia rewards exactly that: a strong speaker, a strong message and media that make both stronger.

The competition was created by Ioana Covei, ESU alumna and long-time collaborator and the ESU Romania is proud to develop it together in its first edition with the ESU.

How it works

  1. Pick your topic – choose one of this year’s themes and decide what you want your audience to think, feel or do.
  2. Build your speech and your media – write a 5-minute speech in English and create the digital media that support it.
  3. Qualifying round (online) – send us a video recording of your full presentation by [date]. Our judges select the finalists in each category.
  4. National final (live) – finalists present live, on stage, in front of judges and an audience

What the judges look for

  • The speech – a clear message, a strong structure and a confident, engaging delivery
  • The media – visuals and sound that add meaning, not decoration
  • The connection – how well speaker and media work together, in sync and in balance
  • Originality – a fresh idea or an unexpected way to tell the story
