In partnership with Bucksmore Education, ESU Romania is offering a dynamic Public Speaking & Debate Residential Course for students aged 11–14.

This unique oracy programme is designed for both beginner and experienced debaters, combining daily workshops in public speaking, argumentation, and structured debate with engaging social and cultural activities. Safety & supervision

Students are supervised at all times. Each group will be accompanied by an ESU Romania group leader (or more, depending on the group size).

We also welcome schools who wish to send their own accompanying teacher or group leader — please contact us for group rates and details.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is included in the price?

Everything is included in the price, from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave. When you book onto a Bucksmore course, your accommodation, food (three meals a day and packed lunch on excursion days), tuition and academic materials, activity fees, entrance costs to excursions, insurance and UK airport transfers (conditions apply) are included as part of your course fees. Flights and ETA are not included.

What will I receive at the end of my course?

At the end of your course, you will receive a Certificate of Attendance.

Can my child keep their phone with them?

Yes, your child can keep their phone with them however we would not permit them to use it during lessons and activities where they are engaging with other students. Sometimes students use their phones to research information for projects during class time, in which case it would be supervised and they would need to follow the teacher’s instructions.

Who will supervise my child?

Students are accompanied by an ESU Romania group leader (or several, depending on group size). In addition, the boarding houses and all activities are supervised by the College’s staff and dedicated summer camp team.

Can I book as a group?

Yes! We welcome school groups accompanied by their own teacher/group leader.

What is the age range for this camp?

This programme is designed exclusively for students aged 11–14. For older students (14 – 19), ESU Romania offers alternative summer programmes in Cambridge and Market Harborough.

Do students need to be fluent in English?

You don’t need to be proficient in English, but we recommend at least a B1 level of English.
